The role available at Fogo de Chao is for a Bartender, a critical hospitality position responsible for enhancing the guest experience through expert beverage preparation and customer service. This position is part-time with a fixed hourly rate of 3.89 plus eligibility to receive tips. As a bartender at Fogo de Chao, you will be expected to welcome customers warmly, discern their beverage preferences through attentive listening, and offer informed recommendations that elevate their dining experience. You will also keep customers informed about new drink specials and assist with upselling menu items by having in-depth knowledge of all offerings and their preparation methods. The bartender is responsible for the proper selection, mixing, and garnishing of drinks, ensuring every beverage served meets the high standards of Fogo de Chao.
In this role, compliance with all local, state, and federal alcohol and food safety regulations is essential. Checking beverage customers’ legal drinking age, managing inventory, and maintaining a well-stocked bar ensure smooth operations. The position also requires handling multiple tables efficiently while keeping the area clean and orderly. Orientation toward teamwork includes educating oneself and colleagues about bar vocabulary, various wines, liquor varieties, mixed drink types, and more. Financial responsibilities such as managing cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately are also part of the job duties. Bartenders must be physically resilient, as they are required to stand for prolonged periods and frequently lift or move weights up to 25 pounds. Additionally, a high level of endurance, mental toughness, and conflict management skills are vital for working successfully in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
