Baristas prepare and serve authentic coffees, espressos, and a variety of café drinks adhering to established guidelines. They also handle quick-serve food items, ensuring proper warming and presentation. A key part of the role involves educating guests about the coffee blends, preparation methods, taste profiles, and ingredients, enhancing the overall customer experience. Baristas are expected to maintain an organized and allergen-safe environment by properly setting up stations, replenishing stock, and following first-in-first-out (FIFO) inventory standards. The role requires weighing, grinding, and packaging coffee beans for guests according to specific requests. Baristas work across multiple counters, handling bakery and café items, operating cash registers, and utilizing point-of-sale software with accuracy and cash handling integrity. This high-paced environment requires maintaining calm under pressure, clear communications with management and other departments, and flexibility in work schedules. Maintaining regular attendance, punctuality, and proper uniform adherence are fundamental expectations. Physically, Baristas must be capable of standing for extended periods, lifting items up to 50 pounds occasionally, and moving effectively around the store to fulfill their duties. • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One or more years of barista experience on a manual espresso machine preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge and enthusiasm about coffee, tea, and drink preparation
• Outstanding communication and guest service skills
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations such as addition and subtraction
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods with standard breaks
• Ability to work flexible and open availability
• Food handling license preferred
