The Bar Assistant supports the Bartender by managing inventory and cleanliness, preparing garnishes, stocking all necessary bar items such as napkins, straws, glassware, and ice, and assisting with opening and closing tasks at the bar. This position requires a person who is detail-oriented, attentive, and capable of multitasking effectively while maintaining a positive attitude. Knowledge of menu items and cocktail recipes is important, along with the ability to learn and navigate the point of sale (POS) system. The Bar Assistant also performs bussing duties, maintains cleanliness through sweeping and mopping, and ensures all equipment and taps function properly, sometimes making minor repairs.
