The role offered at Weis Markets is for a bakery associate based at the 7801 Glenlivet West Drive location. This position is vital to ensuring the bakery department remains well stocked, appealing, and meets customer demand with fresh, high-quality baked goods. The bakery associate's responsibilities are extensive and encompass everything from mixing and baking to customer service and product presentation. The role demands a hands-on approach to bakery production, involving tasks like shaping, proofing, and baking breads, rolls, sweet goods, and cakes, as well as preparing refrigerated and frozen items. Customer interaction holds significant importance in this role, as associates are expected to greet shoppers warmly, make product suggestions, and resolve any customer concerns courteously and promptly. The job also involves specialized skills such as decorating cakes using basic and custom designs, trimming and cutting cakes to precise specifications, and spreading icing neatly on layers. In addition to production, the associate assists with stocking, pricing, wrapping, and merchandising bakery products, carefully managing inventory to ensure freshness by rotating and removing expired products. This position also includes operating equipment such as power jacks and hand jacks for receiving and storing deliveries, subject to proper training. The bakery associate is responsible for the general sanitation of the department, maintaining cleanliness standards in compliance with health and OSHA regulations, including proper waste disposal. Collaborating effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure smooth department and store operations is a critical aspect of the role. The associate must use all company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves and safety footwear, to maintain a safe working environment. • Completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
