The Bakery Associate role at BJ's Wholesale Club is essential to ensuring the bakery department delivers fresh, high-quality products that meet the company's standards and satisfy member expectations. This position involves proofing and baking all unfinished bakery goods by strictly following product handling instructions and using bakery equipment such as ovens. The associate is responsible for unpacking baked goods from freezers, displaying correct amounts per the bakery production chart, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the bakery area. The role requires interaction with members by answering questions, taking special orders, and recommending bakery products, ensuring excellent customer service throughout. Team members in this role will actively support the club’s policies and procedures, strive for flawless execution, and hold themselves accountable for maintaining a safe and positive environment. They are expected to embrace diversity and inclusion, work collaboratively with colleagues, and adapt quickly to the dynamic retail environment. Maintaining a friendly and positive attitude while moving with agility and innovation is a key part of daily operations. The Bakery Associate will perform tasks such as packaging freshly baked goods including cookies, pastries, breads, and cakes; decorating special orders; rotating bakery products; receiving and inspecting shipments; labeling and pricing items accurately; and cleaning bakery equipment and displays. They will also maintain quality control by checking for freshness and adhering to salvage policies. Regular attendance and reliability are essential to this role. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.25 to $19.50, depending on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
