The Bakery Cake Designer position at Hy-Vee is a unique and creative role within the bakery department. This position operates on a non-exempt employment basis during daytime shifts, offering opportunities to engage directly with customers and co-workers. As a Bakery Cake Designer, you will contribute to maintaining the high standards of the bakery by preparing decorated cakes on a timely schedule and keeping up to date with popular trends and new designs in cake decorating. In addition to decorating cakes, the position includes greeting customers warmly, assisting them with their needs and orders, managing production schedules, ordering supplies, and even delivering and setting up wedding cakes on site. • High school diploma or equivalent
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently
• Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly
• Visual acuity including color vision, depth perception and field of vision
• Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
