The Baker position within University Housing and Dining plays a vital role in the preparation and production of baked goods to support dining services across the main campus. This full-time role, with a 40-hour weekly schedule, is crucial to maintaining the quality and freshness of baked products served to students and staff. Working closely under the guidance of the Sous Chef, the Baker is responsible for the day-to-day operation of bakery production, including mixing, baking, and finishing a variety of breads, pastries, and cakes. Candidates are expected to proficiently use commercial kitchen equipment, follow detailed recipes accurately, and possess the ability to execute high-volume baking production. Attention to detail is essential to ensure product freshness, reduce waste, and comply with food safety regulations. The role also requires maintaining cleanliness and organization of workspaces, adhering to University and departmental policies, and demonstrating effective communication skills in a fast-paced environment. The Baker contributes to a positive dining experience by preparing visually appealing and delicious bakery items that meet the diverse needs of the campus community.
