In the role of Bagroom Agent, you will become a vital part of Swissport's ground handling team. This position involves providing essential under-wing ground support services, including loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshalling aircraft during arrivals and departures, servicing water and lavatories, and handling special items such as wheelchairs and child strollers. As a Bagroom Agent, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth turnaround of aircraft and the timely, safe handling of passenger belongings. The role demands physical stamina as agents need to handle heavy lifting tasks up to 70 pounds, work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, and operate various ground support equipment. The pay rate for this position is $20.50 per hour, reflecting the responsibilities and skills required. Your daily duties will include marshaling aircraft safely as they arrive and depart from the gate, unloading and delivering passenger luggage and air cargo to the correct destinations, and managing the safe transportation of special items such as live animals and mail. You will also operate a variety of ground support equipment, including tow tractors, belt loaders, baggage tugs, and de-icing units, among others. Attention to health and safety is critical, so you will be expected to report equipment malfunctions promptly and comply fully with all relevant security regulations enforced by federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier bodies. The Bagroom Agent position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
