The role of Aviation Construction Manager at EXP offers a dynamic opportunity to lead construction projects within the aviation sector, specifically in locations such as Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, or Miami, Florida. This position is embedded within the UX Sector's Aviation team, focusing on overseeing large-scale infrastructure developments at active airport environments. As the primary point of contact for construction execution, the Aviation Construction Manager is responsible for steering all phases of construction activities to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and safety standards. This role demands meticulous management of diverse stakeholders including contractors, consultants, design teams, inspectors, airport officials, and tenants, to maintain effective communication and coordinate efforts efficiently.
Key responsibilities include overseeing construction inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements, driving quality and risk management protocols, and managing contractor performance and progress relative to project timelines. Additionally, the role entails leading construction meetings, approving critical documentation such as submittals and change orders, handling field issues proactively to minimize operational disruptions, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and security protocols. The Aviation Construction Manager also collaborates closely with program control teams utilizing project management systems such as Primavera P6, Unifier, and SharePoint for forecasting and reporting. Mentorship of field staff and junior team members is essential to uphold project delivery standards and foster continuous improvement. 
This leadership position requires a proven track record of managing complex, multi-phase capital projects valued at $300 million or more, with demonstrated success in delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting stringent safety and quality standards. Experience negotiating multi-million dollar contracts and leading integrated project delivery teams is crucial. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to manage large teams of project managers, ensuring commitment follow-through and consistent achievement of project goals. A Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction management is preferred, along with over 15 years of relevant experience. Certification through the Project Management Institute or program management credentials adds value, and registration as an Architect or Engineer is desirable though not mandatory.
