The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass is essential in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and presentation that complement the quality collision repair services provided. This position focuses on ensuring customer vehicles are impeccably cleaned and presented before delivery, which enhances customer satisfaction and supports the company’s WOW Operating Way plan. In addition to vehicle preparation, the Porter maintains the cleanliness and organization of both the shop and office facilities, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for customers and team members alike. Key responsibilities include daily housekeeping tasks such as emptying garbage, cleaning floors, dusting surfaces, and managing waste both inside the office and production areas. The Porter is also responsible for the upkeep of parking lots and outdoor spaces, including snow removal when necessary.
Pre-washing customer vehicles before repairs begin and performing thorough interior and exterior cleaning after repairs are completed are critical components of this role. The Porter also facilitates the smooth operation of the repair process by transporting vehicles to sublet locations when additional repairs are required. This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow within the company. Automotive experience is preferred but not mandatory, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to start or build a career in the automotive or collision repair industry.
Gerber Collision & Glass offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $17 to $20 per hour, commensurate with the candidate’s skill, education, and experience. This role is designed for individuals who are at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and demonstrate strong work ethics and safety awareness.
