The Assistant Manager (AM) position at Hemingway's Tavern is a pivotal role designed to support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant. The AM ensures that all aspects of the restaurant run smoothly, from frontline service to back-office administration. Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing inventory and orders, handling customer complaints, scheduling, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The AM is also tasked with training new employees, recruiting, and contributing to the overall strategic planning that helps the restaurant maintain its high standards and profitability. The Assistant Manager will act competently in the absence of the General Manager, making critical decisions and maintaining operational continuity.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous restaurant supervisory, management, or leadership experience
- Food Handler certification, strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Excel and/or Google sheets
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and dining room staff and guests
