This full-time position offers hourly compensation ranging from $21.99 to $29.13, making it a competitive employment opportunity in the region.\n\nThe Aquatic Supervisor will hold a key role in ensuring the safety, maintenance, and programmatic success of aquatic facilities managed by Charlotte County. This position involves performing specialized public safety work that includes protecting lives and enforcing swimming regulations, supervising aquatic facility operations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role emphasizes leadership and organizational skills, as the Aquatic Supervisor will assign, train, schedule, and evaluate lifeguarding staff, ensuring that all certifications are current and that policies and procedures are followed appropriately.\n\nIn addition to staff supervision, the Aquatic Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the physical condition and cleanliness of aquatic facilities, including the pool, deck, pump rooms, offices, storage spaces, and restrooms. Managing water quality is a crucial component, which involves conducting tests, adjusting chemicals to meet established water quality standards, and overseeing the maintenance of all pool equipment.\n\nThe Aquatic Supervisor also coordinates and implements comprehensive aquatic programs, teaching swimming at all levels as well as lifeguard, CPR, and first aid classes. The position calls for organizing events and collaborating with other community and aquatic services to promote health and safety in aquatic environments.\n\nEmergency response is a critical responsibility. The Aquatic Supervisor must be prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to all emergency situations, performing rescues, administering first aid or CPR as needed, and calling for additional emergency assistance when necessary. Maintaining inventory of rescue and first aid equipment and ensuring readiness through daily inspections and report documentation is essential for operational success.\n\nAdministrative tasks such as preparing accident and incident reports, purchasing pool supplies, and possibly providing temporary supervision to other facilities round out this role’s diverse responsibilities. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, able to resolve complaints and provide assistance via multiple communication methods.\n\nThis position requires an individual with knowledge of pool chemistry and filtration systems, rescue and first aid methods, and the ability to operate office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Candidates must have strong communication skills, effective organizational and prioritization abilities, and the capability to function well under stress in emergency situations. - High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum two years of lifeguard or aquatics experience
- valid driver’s license
- valid American Red Cross lifeguard, first aid, CPR, and water safety instructor certifications
- ability to obtain Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator certification within six months
- ability to obtain Water Safety Instructor Trainer and Lifeguard Instructor Trainer certification within six months
- physical ability to perform lifeguarding duties including swimming and emergency response
- ability to work in varying environmental conditions
