The role of a Temporary Facilities Enhancement Technician is essential to the upkeep and smooth operation of the Student Centers’ facilities. This temporary position involves general cleaning and maintenance duties within the student center buildings, ensuring that all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards. Technicians use standard housekeeping equipment and supplies to complete tasks including vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, and replenishing supplies in assigned areas. The position requires a high degree of flexibility to respond promptly to various requests, communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, and coordinate closely with building occupants and clients. In addition to routine cleaning, the Facilities Enhancement Technician is expected to identify and report discrepancies or maintenance issues within the buildings, respond to emergencies, and assist with inclement weather procedures such as snow and ice removal when necessary. The role may also involve moving and resetting furniture for events or as required, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and completing designated projects to support the continuous improvement of the centers’ facilities. This hourly, temporary position spans 10 to 11 months with a mandatory 32-day break at the end of the assignment period.
