This restaurant is part of the Del Taco franchise, but it operates independently as it is owned and managed by an independent franchisee rather than Del Taco LLC. This means that the hiring entity operates autonomously and handles all employment-related functions including hiring, firing, wages, scheduling, and disciplinary matters. The restaurant is a quick-service restaurant (QSR) known for delivering quality Mexican-inspired fast food, including tacos, burritos, and other specialty items. Being part of the Del Taco brand signifies a strong commitment to high standards for food quality, customer service, cleanliness, and operational excellence. Working here offers the chance to be involved with a nationally recognized brand but in a local and entrepreneurial business environment.
The General Manager position offers a fantastic leadership opportunity for a motivated individual dedicated to growing the restaurant's sales and profitability while maintaining a strong team and operational discipline in line with Del Taco's standard. Reporting directly to the Area Director, the General Manager will lead the team in delivering an exceptional customer experience by executing the Del Taco Way, a comprehensive brand philosophy that covers everything from product quality to workplace culture. The manager’s role is multifaceted, covering recruitment, team development, financial management, operational excellence, and local marketing efforts.
Key responsibilities include staffing the restaurant with high-quality employees, ensuring all team members are properly trained and certified, and promoting a positive service culture focused on teamwork and customer satisfaction. The General Manager will be expected to manage employee performance, recommend and administer discipline when necessary, and foster the professional growth of future managers within the team. Operational duties include maintaining high standards for food safety, equipment maintenance, facility cleanliness, and brand presentation to ensure a consistent and appealing customer experience.
Sales growth and profitability are central to the role, requiring the ability to develop and achieve sales goals, optimize staffing based on demand, implement local store marketing strategies, and maximize customer loyalty. The manager is responsible for adhering to labor laws, managing inventory to reduce waste and prevent theft, overseeing cash handling and audits, and controlling operational costs including repairs and supplies. In sum, this role demands a well-rounded leader who is hands-on, organized, goal-oriented, and passionate about leading a dynamic restaurant team in a competitive quick-service environment.
The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, excellent organizational and analytical abilities, and a practical understanding of QSR operations. The General Manager will also travel between restaurant locations in the assigned area when needed, and must hold a valid driver's license with proof of insurance. This is a full-time position that offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment while building a rewarding career in restaurant management. The designated employer for this position will be the independent franchisee managing this specific Del Taco location, not Del Taco LLC. Employment terms, wages, and benefits will be determined by the franchisee. This structure allows the manager to operate within a flexible, autonomous franchise business model while delivering the trusted standards of the Del Taco brand.
