The Cultural Arts Center encompasses several facilities including the Toyota Meeting Hall, Torino Festival Plaza, Ken Miller Assembly Room and Auditorium, James R. Armstrong Theatre, George Nakano Theatre, Pine Wind Japanese Garden, and the Torrance Art Museum. Additionally, it features specialized arts spaces such as four dance studios with sprung hardwood floors, a ceramics facility, a jewelry making studio, three art-making studios, and a music/drama room. These facilities collectively serve as a hub for cultural activities, performances, workshops, and community events throughout the year.
The City of Torrance is currently recruiting for Facilities Operation Attendants to join the dedicated Cultural Arts Center team. This position is integral in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the Center's various venues. Facilities Operation Attendants are responsible for performing routine maintenance, setting up and tearing down for events, and ensuring that all spaces meet the highest standards required for public use. These tasks include arranging chairs, tables, and stages for performances and meetings, conducting janitorial duties such as floor care and restroom maintenance, and responding promptly to the operational needs during events.
The Facilities Operation Attendant role demands individuals who are physically capable and detail-oriented, with the ability to work with chemical cleaners and power equipment safely. Candidates must be adept at lifting and moving heavy objects, as well as working in a variety of conditions that may include heights, confined spaces, and exposure to various environmental factors such as dust, grease, and loud noise. The position requires flexibility to work irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to support the Center’s varied schedule.
