The Part 135 Director of Maintenance role at Metro Aviation is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance of all aircraft covered under the company’s 14 CFR Part 135 certificate. This full-time, on-site position, located at the company’s headquarters in Shreveport, Louisiana, demands extensive expertise in regulatory compliance, maintenance program oversight, and leadership capabilities. The Director ensures strict adherence to all federal airworthiness standards and FAA regulations, guiding the operational control of company aircraft and the execution of maintenance activities for airframes, engines, rotors, propellers, and appliances.
This leadership role includes managing personnel qualifications, training programs, technical documentation, and communication with regulatory bodies such as the FAA. The individual in this position is responsible for guiding maintenance planning, scheduling, and reporting, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and promoting a company-wide culture of safety and compliance. The role requires evaluating the impact of Federal Aviation Regulations on operations and ensuring maintenance procedures are efficient and effective for line maintenance teams. The Director also manages key programs such as the Minimum Equipment List (MEL), fuel quality control policies, and the submission of mandatory reports to the FAA, including Service Difficulty Reports and Mechanical Interruption Summaries.

 - Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business, or related field preferred
 - Experience with Part 145 FAA repair station regulatory requirements
 - Familiarity with STC certification processes and FAA Field Approval process
 - Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
 - Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
 - Ability to travel up to 25 percent of the time
 - Ability to work full-time on-site, Monday through Friday, with additional on-call duties
 - Ability to manage multiple maintenance programs and personnel
 - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
