United Airlines is a leading global airline committed to connecting people and uniting the world safely, reliably, and efficiently each day. As one of the largest and most respected airlines in the industry, United Airlines combines cutting-edge technologies with a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional service. With a robust route network, the company provides opportunities not only for customers to explore the world but also for employees to grow their careers and enjoy a wealth of benefits including top-tier health and wellness plans. The company fosters a collaborative culture where employees build lasting relationships both within their teams and with the traveling public, creating a distinctive and supportive workplace environment. United Airlines is also deeply committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring equal opportunity employment and accommodations for those with disabilities, reflecting its core values and responsibility to its workforce and communities. The role of the Analyst for Pilot Workforce Planning plays a vital part within United’s Flight Operations team, which is at the forefront of the airline industry. This position focuses on the creation, maintenance, and communication of the pilot staffing plan essential for the smooth operation of the airline’s extensive flight network. The Analyst collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, including the Flight Training Center and Crew Planning teams, to develop accurate and dynamic forecasts related to pilot demand and supply. This includes assisting in the annual budget plan for Flight Operations, reforecasting on a monthly basis, and contributing to the annual pilot vacation plan. In this role, the Analyst demonstrates ownership of various inputs, assumptions, and calculations that feed into staffing models and long-term planning tools. They bridge the gap between long-term forecasts and actual monthly staffing builds, identifying discrepancies and communicating clear expectations to internal teams. The Analyst also performs ad hoc scenario analyses, such as the impact of new pilot contracts or aircraft deliveries, using advanced modeling and data analysis techniques. Presenting findings and plans to leadership and stakeholders is another core element of the role, requiring strong communication and presentation skills. Candidates for this position will bring analytic expertise, intellectual curiosity, and a motivated approach to interpreting data and uncovering actionable insights. The role offers an excellent opportunity to engage with strategic workforce planning activities in an industry-leading aviation environment. It is suited for individuals with a background in aviation, finance, operations research, engineering, or related fields, who seek to leverage their skills in a fast-paced, impactful role. Compensation for this role ranges from $64,885 to $84,514 annually, with eligibility for bonuses and long-term incentives. Furthermore, employees enjoy comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and exclusive flight privileges. This is a full-time position welcoming applicants committed to contributing to United Airlines’ future as an industry leader and innovator.
