The Marriott is a globally recognized hospitality leader known for delivering exceptional service and luxury accommodations to guests around the world. This new dual-brand Marriott property is set to open in late summer 2025 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, Georgia. Designed to enhance the visitor experience for locals and hotel guests, this establishment will feature various accommodations alongside extensive dining and entertainment options. Among its highlights is the 1824 Kitchen and Bar, a signature food and beverage outlet that promises to become a preferred dining destination in the community. The role of Director of Food and Beverage at this new Marriott hotel represents an exciting leadership opportunity to build and shape a thriving restaurant and bar brand from the ground up. This position involves overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s dining operations including the main restaurant, bar, room service, and event catering. Unique features such as the outdoor Beer Garden with a covered stage for live entertainment and a large projection TV dedicated to showing college football and other sporting events will make this venue a lively hub for guests and locals alike. This is not a fast food operation; the focus is on genuine sit-down dining experiences with freshly prepared meals rather than pre-packaged or microwaved foods. The Director will be responsible for maintaining high service standards, driving revenue growth, managing costs, and fostering a motivated and service-oriented team. A key part of the role also involves strategic initiatives like incorporating room service and third-party delivery platforms such as Uber Eats and DoorDash within the first six months of opening. This position requires a keen understanding of food and beverage operations within a sit-down restaurant or upscale hospitality environment, hands-on leadership, and a passion for exceptional guest experiences. Ultimately, this position plays a pivotal role in defining the dining culture of the Marriott property and establishing it as a community destination.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of food and beverage management experience in a sit-down restaurant or hotel setting
  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Prior experience with budget management and cost control
  • Familiarity with POS and inventory management software
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred
