The role of the Engineering Supervisor at The Wren is essential in maintaining the building’s physical infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, to uphold the high standards expected by guests and management.
This position offers an hourly pay range from $25 to $30 per hour, dependent on experience, with the unique benefit of daily pay, allowing employees to make any day payday. As an Engineering Supervisor, you will lead and manage the maintenance team responsible for the upkeep and repair of all facilities and engineering equipment. You'll ensure that all engineering tools and equipment are secure, clean, and maintained according to safety standards, while also supervising preventive maintenance programs that minimize downtime and extend the lifecycle of assets. Your expertise in various trades such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC will enable you to complete diverse work orders efficiently and professionally.
This position requires strong leadership skills to guide the team, manage delegated tasks, and ensure open communication channels within the department. The role also demands flexibility, as shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays according to operational needs. Responding promptly to after-hours maintenance calls is part of the responsibility, ensuring that all unsafe conditions are immediately addressed and reported.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of diverse mechanical systems including refrigeration cycles, HVAC equipment repair, and the ability to operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Previous hotel maintenance experience and industry certifications such as Boiler operation, HVAC, Certified Pool Operator (CPO), and EPA 608 are preferred, but Columbia Hospitality values potential and encourages candidates with varying backgrounds to apply.
