This is a full-time, on-site position that requires a dependable individual with excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage route schedules carefully. The Route Driver will be responsible for transporting tortillas and other company products to a variety of grocery stores, including both supermarket chains and independent stores. The job involves maintaining a detailed travel log to accurately record work hours, travel time, and locations visited, ensuring transparency and accountability. Additionally, the driver will perform routine vehicle checks to maintain safety and reliability on the road, including daily inspections and basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as cleaning and washing. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency with handheld devices and printers to efficiently create invoices and manage credits during deliveries. Knowledge of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) processes to grocery stores is essential, as is the ability to load products from the warehouse and unload them at various delivery points. Merchandising skills will also be beneficial as drivers may be expected to help display products at retail locations. Adjustments to travel routes may be necessary to avoid delays like traffic congestion or road construction, emphasizing the need for good local knowledge and navigational skills. Candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish will have an added advantage, facilitating smoother communication in diverse settings.
