These shareholders hail from one of the most remote and challenging environments in the United States, emphasizing the company's commitment to sustaining and empowering indigenous cultures that have thrived above the Arctic Circle for over 10,000 years.
Pegasus Aviation Services plays a critical role by delivering efficient, flexible, and safe aviation services that support domestic and international passenger and freighter airlines alike. This work directly impacts the lives of its shareholders by providing meaningful employment opportunities and contributing to the survival and growth of a rich cultural heritage. As an employee, you become part of a challenging yet supportive work environment that values innovation and diversity as core principles. The role of Ramp Service Agent (RSA) at Pegasus is essential in maintaining smooth and safe airport operations. RSAs are responsible for handling various ground service tasks such as marshalling aircraft on the ramp, loading and unloading cargo and baggage, and servicing aircraft lavatories and potable water systems. They also assist in aircraft pushback procedures and deicing processes, ensuring that flights depart safely even under adverse weather conditions.
This position is on-site and functions under close supervisory guidance from Customer Service Representatives, Supervisors, or Ramp Managers. It demands a strong commitment to safety, security, and operational efficiency. RSAs play a pivotal role in aviation security, constantly monitoring for any potential security breaches, screening passengers and baggage, conducting patrols, and being ready to respond swiftly to any calls for assistance from flight crews. The role requires working in varied environmental conditions, including inclement weather, and often involves night shifts, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
Given the physically demanding nature of the job, RSAs must be able to lift up to 60 pounds comfortably and sometimes more with assistance. The position requires a strong ability to follow procedures and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The role also necessitates completion of FBI background checks, criminal history reviews, and pre-employment drug tests to maintain security integrity.
