The role of the Bar Manager at Fridays is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all bar operations. The Bar Manager supervises a team of bartenders and ensures that mixed beverages are accurately prepared and served with speed and professionalism. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience, emphasizing responsible alcohol service while also managing beverage costs, production, labor, and quality. The Bar Manager is instrumental in optimizing profits by increasing sales through targeted local marketing initiatives and promotions designed to attract and retain guests. The Bar Manager supports people development by staffing, training, and coaching hourly team members. This includes setting clear performance expectations, conducting regular reviews, and ensuring that all new hires complete the required training plans. By fostering a positive work environment and boosting staff morale, the Bar Manager helps build a motivated and efficient team. The role also involves detailed scheduling and manpower planning to maintain proper staffing levels for each shift. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing bar operations during scheduled shifts, making quick decisions, supporting staff, and engaging with guests to ensure they receive the distinctive Fridays service style. The Bar Manager takes an active role in maintaining product quality, cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the bar. They are also accountable for efficient inventory management, responsible purchasing, and maintaining bar equipment. When required, the Bar Manager may act as the Manager on Duty, overseeing the entire restaurant operation and ensuring security measures protect employees, guests, and company assets. This position requires a balance of strong leadership, operational expertise, and customer service skills. The Bar Manager makes important decisions related to guest relations, vendor management, team hiring and termination, sales strategies, and overall front-of-house quality. Success is measured by guest satisfaction scores, sales growth, meeting budget requirements for beverages and labor, maintaining audit scores, and staff retention. The compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 per year, reflecting the significant responsibilities and leadership required. Fridays seeks candidates with a minimum of six months’ restaurant management experience and at least two years of bar experience. The ideal Bar Manager is well-versed in bar operations, purchasing, and production processes and demonstrates strong physical capability for the demands of the role.
