The role of Assistant General Manager at Hyatt Place Omaha/Downtown-Old Market holds a critical position within the hotel's leadership team. This position is designated as an overtime eligible manager (OEM), meaning the incumbent may work beyond standard hours with overtime compensation accordingly. As the Assistant General Manager, you are entrusted with overseeing the smooth operation of multiple departments in the absence of the General Manager, directly contributing to the achievement of the hotel's profitability goals through effective revenue generation and cost control strategies. Additionally, this role involves playing a pivotal part in talent management by aiding in the recruitment, hiring, and continuous training of both managerial and hourly associates, ensuring that service standards remain consistently high. This position requires exemplary leadership qualities, strong communication skills, and a strong sense of customer service orientation. You will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of personal and organizational appearance and compliance, while also utilizing technical skills, including proficiency with Windows operating systems, for reporting and operational management. At least 5 years of progressive experience in Rooms or F&B department in a hotel, or a 4-year college degree with 2 to 3 years of related experience, or a 2-year college degree with 3 to 4 years of related experience
Previous supervisory experience required
Must be effective in handling stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and objectivity
Compliance with certification requirements may include Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid
