Founded in 1993 by Bob Faith and headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Greystar operates at a global scale with a presence in North America, Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region. The company manages and operates over $300 billion in real estate assets across more than 250 markets worldwide. Known as the largest apartment operator in the United States, Greystar manages over 1,000,000 units and beds globally. The company’s extensive portfolio includes nearly $79 billion in assets under management, encompassing development assets valued at over $35 billion and regulatory assets exceeding $30 billion. The role available is for a property maintenance position at a garden-style residential community consisting of 239 units. The property is currently stabilized and requires a dedicated individual to ensure that the physical aspects of the community are well-maintained. The role primarily focuses on maintaining the grounds, amenities, and overall curb appeal of the property. The maintenance team member will play a critical role in supporting the service team to uphold Greystar’s high standards for the properties it manages. The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule with a rotating on-call schedule, offering an hourly wage range from $18.00 to $20.00. In this position, the maintenance professional will conduct regular inspections throughout the day to remove litter, debris, pet droppings, and other waste to keep common areas and amenities clean and inviting for residents. They will also be responsible for removing trash from vacant apartments before the make-ready process begins and ensuring that storage areas remain orderly. Routine service requests and minor maintenance tasks will be performed, working closely with the Service Supervisor and Community Manager. The role also requires changing locks according to property policy and maintaining security measures such as ensuring pool gates comply with safety standards. Customer service is a key component of this role, as it involves interacting with residents in a respectful and helpful manner, responding to maintenance inquiries and concerns promptly and sensitively. Safety and compliance are equally important, with a focus on adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety policies by participating in routine safety meetings and reporting incidents promptly. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds with assistance. The role requires the flexibility to work in diverse weather conditions and includes occasional travel to support other properties. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license to operate golf carts on property. Greystar offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees, including competitive medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance plans with low employee costs that decrease with tenure. Paid time off is generous, starting with 15 vacation days, 4 personal days, 10 sick days, and 11 paid holidays, with additional time off for birthdays after one year of service. Other benefits include onsite housing discounts at Greystar-managed communities, a 6-week paid sabbatical after 10 years of service, a 401(k) plan with company matching up to 6% of pay, paid parental leave, fertility benefits, and various assistance programs. Greystar proudly supports an inclusive employment environment, considering applicants with diverse backgrounds and records under equal opportunity principles.
