The role offered is for a Utility Associate position, a vital component within the food and beverage team. This non-exempt role requires a hands-on individual responsible for a wide range of sanitation and operational duties, extending beyond basic cleaning to include the monitoring and stocking of supplies necessary for smooth operations. The Utility Associate’s responsibilities encompass cleaning equipment such as work tables, refrigerators, and meat blocks; washing utensils, pots, and pans either by hand or using commercial dishwashers; as well as returning all clean items to their designated storage locations. The role also involves maintaining the cleanliness of all floors—including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing—along with keeping walls, windows, and trash containers in sanitary condition.
Another important aspect of the role involves regularly checking ice levels, keg beers, bib sodas, and CO2 containers, replacing them as necessary to prevent any disruption in service. The Utility Associate also handles supply logistics by loading and unloading delivery trucks and transferring stock between storage and work areas using hand trucks or by hand. This comprehensive scope of duties ensures that the food and beverage operation runs efficiently, maintains a clean environment, and meets health and safety standards.
This position requires physical endurance, including the ability to bend, twist, stand for prolonged periods, and lift/move items up to 40 pounds. The successful candidate should be able to frequently immerse their hands in water mixed with cleaning chemicals while maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic interaction with coworkers and the public.
