The full-time position of Airline Passenger Assistant, commonly known as Wheelchair Agent, is based within the passenger service team and requires working weekends and holidays. This hourly wage role compensates at $12.00 per hour and involves assisting passengers who need wheelchair support during their time at the airport. The role is highly customer service-oriented, emphasizing compassionate and professional interactions with passengers. Exceptional service by Wheelchair Agents often leads to additional income, as tipping is customary and can boost earnings by $25 to $100 weekly. This role is ideal for individuals entering or re-entering the workforce with limited prior experience or education. In this role, the Wheelchair Agent ensures the safe and efficient transport of wheelchair-bound passengers between various locations within the client’s site or grounds, such as from the plane to baggage claim or other areas. Agents follow stringent safety protocols and site security regulations while delivering positive interpersonal interactions that enhance the passenger experience. Responsibilities include assisting passengers with baggage retrieval if needed, coordinating assignments with dispatchers and gate agents, and documenting incidents thoroughly through reports. The company provides on-the-job training, so no previous experience or formal education is required, although a minimum age of 18 years is mandatory and one year of customer service experience is preferred.
