Serco is currently seeking experienced Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) for positions located throughout Washington in areas such as Bellingham, Gig Harbor, Olympia, Renton, Spokane, Walla Walla, and Yakima. Serco is distinguished as one of the largest non-government Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) worldwide, offering air traffic control services for an array of airports ranging from small and medium regional facilities to some of the largest commercial hubs globally. Unique in the industry, Serco provides all three air traffic control disciplines: Terminal Tower, Terminal Approach Control, and Enroute Center, solidifying its status as one of the largest non-government employers of air traffic controllers globally.
As an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) at Serco, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, orderly, and efficient movement of air traffic within the vicinity of the airport you serve. Your responsibilities will include managing radio communications with arriving and departing aircraft, issuing precise landing and takeoff instructions, and conveying important information such as runway usage, wind conditions, visibility, and taxiing directions. In addition, you will issue air traffic clearances, make critical weather observations as a Limited Aviation Weather Reporting Station (LAWRS) observer, and distribute timely weather updates to pilots and other air traffic control facilities.
Operating sophisticated equipment including radios, telephones, radar, computer systems, recording devices, and airport lighting systems will be a routine part of your job. You will also coordinate emergency responses by alerting Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighters and other first responders when emergencies arise. Additionally, you are expected to maintain meticulous records of daily operations, provide on-the-job training to new controllers, and coordinate instructions for airport vehicles and personnel. This role demands a high level of vigilance, precision, and communication skills to effectively manage the complex and dynamic environment of air traffic control.
Serco offers competitive salary ranges varying by location, with pay from $36.05 to $39.59 per hour.                 - US citizenship
 - an FAA second class medical certificate
 - a Control Tower Operator (CTO) rating or a Credential with a Tower Rating and six months of practical experience in accordance with 14 CFR Part 65.39
 - eligibility to work for Serco under federal immigration laws
 - verification of education and employment references from previous employers including the release of drug and alcohol records
 - passing a pre-employment drug screen
 - receiving an FAA security clearance (interim and final suitability)
 - proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States
