Air Methods Communications (AirCom) is a critical division of Air Methods Corporation, a leading air medical services company dedicated to providing life-saving medical transportation. As a vital component of Air Methods' operations, AirCom serves as the communication hub coordinating flight missions, emergency medical services, and ground care providers to ensure seamless interaction between aircraft flight crews, healthcare professionals, and other qualified callers. Air Methods Communications functions as an essential link between air transport teams and pre-hospital healthcare providers, facilitating clear and efficient exchanges of flight coordination information. This role is especially crucial during emergency medical situations where timely and accurate communication can make a life-saving difference. AirCom operates on a 24/7 basis with a dedicated team working 12-hour shifts, including a night shift starting at 5 pm. The position offers a competitive hourly wage, starting between $21 and $22 per hour, with an annual salary range from $42,700 to $61,800, reflecting the specialized nature and responsibilities involved.
The Communications Coordinator position at Air Method Communications entails managing a variety of communication tasks, including coordinating flight details, flight following from takeoff to touchdown while adhering to FAA and company regulations, and handling calls from public, private, and flight-related sources. The coordinator also serves as a liaison between pre-hospital healthcare providers and receiving medical institutions, ensuring that vital patient information and transport details are communicated effectively.
This role requires exceptional multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, along with advanced customer service and communication skills. The coordinator is expected to foster collaboration amongst the Communications Specialists, flight team members, and external agencies to promote smooth operational workflows.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with the training of new employees and performing other duties as assigned to support operational efficiency. The role demands a professional demeanor both over the telephone and radio communications, maintaining a high level of accuracy in reporting and information relay. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to perform data entry and other computer-based coordination tasks.

- One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
