The Ramp/Warehouse Agent role at WFS is essential for the smooth operation of ground services related to cargo and aircraft handling. Individuals in this position will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks including loading and unloading cargo such as mail, express packages, baggage, freight, and company materials on and off aircraft. The role demands physical stamina and precision as agents transport cargo between terminals and aircraft, perform ramp transfers, and handle freight at designated locations. Agents also complete necessary documentation to ensure seamless handling and tracking of cargo.
Additional duties include cleaning and servicing cabin interiors such as cockpits and lavatories, draining lavatories, and managing passenger service cabin supplies. Ramp/Warehouse Agents support loading and unloading of filled and empty drums and may also be involved in aircraft de-icing, windshield clearing, aircraft push-out operations, and the connection and disconnection of ground power units. The job may require cleaning the aircraft exterior with specialized fluids and routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities.
Working conditions often involve exposure to variable weather and environmental elements like jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, noise, dust, and other factors. The role requires operating various vehicles – ranging from light vehicles to heavy-duty trucks - safely in congested airport environments near aircraft and other equipment. Agents must be able to read and interpret off-load sheets and communicate effectively with cockpit personnel during critical procedures.
