The Activity Coordinator position at Oakmont of Brookside plays a vital role within the Memory Care unit, specifically in the secured Traditions Memory Care area. This role is focused on organizing, scheduling, promoting, facilitating, and directing a wide range of activities and excursions that enrich the lives of residents with memory care needs. By creating a stimulating social environment, the Activity Coordinator helps to promote residents' independence, engagement, and overall quality of life in alignment with the company’s mission and values. The Activity Coordinator works closely with the Memory Care Director to develop and maintain a creative and rewarding social atmosphere through high-quality activities. These include excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, clubs, games, arts and crafts, educational classes, and other meaningful opportunities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills are critical as the coordinator interacts with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors, always displaying tact and friendliness. Safety and security are paramount in this role, with responsibilities including maintaining a safe environment for staff, residents, and guests while adhering to established safety standards. The position requires the ability to drive community vehicles responsibly and promote teamwork through cooperative interactions across various departments. The Activity Coordinator also must be adept in technology, particularly proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint, to facilitate scheduling and promotional efforts. Oakmont Management Group emphasizes health and safety, requiring team members to comply with COVID-19 preventive measures such as vaccinations, daily screenings, surveillance testing, and the use of personal protective equipment when necessary. This position is full-time with shifts from Sunday through Thursday, offering a competitive pay range of $18.00 to $19.00 per hour and numerous benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, bonus opportunities, and more.   • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors
  • Requires current Class C, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents
  • Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs
  • Willingness to comply with health and safety protocols including vaccination and use of PPE
