The role of the Server within this residential care facility is pivotal in delivering quality dining services to residents and guests. The Server is responsible for courteous meal serving and for the cleaning and resetting of the dining room after each meal service. This role requires a good working knowledge of dining room and kitchen responsibilities and an understanding of basic kitchen equipment operation such as food processors, dishwashers, and beverage machines. The Server must maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, serving area, and dining room, and understand proper table setting for each meal.
Key responsibilities include assisting residents with placing orders from the menu, providing beverage service, refilling condiments, and reporting any broken equipment or tableware. Servers must be familiar with sit-down service and proper serving techniques, possess a basic understanding of food preparation and storage, and complete routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. Additionally, Servers must attend required in-services and staff meetings and be attentive to the special needs of residents, such as those with mobility deficits or memory impairments. The role also involves assisting with tray service and interacting politely and considerately with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors. This position demands a commitment to confidentiality concerning resident information and a flexible work schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.                 - Must have a high school diploma or GED
 - Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene
 - Must be able to read and follow simple instructions
 - Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks
 - Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles
 - Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision
 - Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects
 - Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time
 - Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet
 - Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members
