The Yard Porter position is a seasonal role that supports the company’s fleet and equipment management during peak operation times. The role is based in Fontana, California, and operates on a consistent schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, making it an ideal position for candidates looking for stable work that offers time for rest midweek. The pay rate is $18 per hour with the additional benefit of overtime pay after eight hours each day. As a Yard Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of company equipment, including both the interiors and exteriors of tractors and trailers. This ensures that all equipment meets strict safety and hygiene standards required by industry regulations and company policies. Using various cleaning tools such as steamers, vacuums, and foggers safely and effectively is an essential part of your daily duties. Beyond cleaning, you will perform equipment inspections and document the condition of vehicles meticulously to support fleet maintenance and operational safety.
Supporting inventory audits is another key part of this role. You will track critical yard materials such as trailers, load bars, and straps and help maintain cleaning supply inventories by reporting when restocks are necessary. Collaboration is crucial in this position as you will work closely with both the Fleet and Operations teams to ensure equipment readiness, prevent delays, and contribute to seamless transport logistics.
Additionally, you will assist with administrative functions, including data entry and equipment tracking, contributing to robust fleet management records.
