The position at hand is for the Director of Dining and Auxiliary Services, a full-time, regular exempt role within the Campus Auxiliaries and Airlie department. This hybrid position requires 3-4 days per week on campus in Washington, DC, with one day of remote work. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Business Services, the Director plays a critical role in providing day-to-day operational leadership for the university’s contracted dining and auxiliary services across all campuses. This is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic development and implementation of operational plans that enhance the dining experience and manage auxiliary services including vending, mail services, one card programs, and licensing. This role demands a forward-thinking and customer-focused professional who can manage service delivery through vendors and oversee dining construction projects. The Director will measure and monitor key performance indicators related to food quality, customer satisfaction, and service reliability while ensuring alignment with university standards on sustainability, health, safety, and food preparation. The Director also serves as a liaison among vendors, university partners, and stakeholders to maintain operational excellence and to foster continuous improvement strategies. Key responsibilities include leading staff, including one direct report and several indirect reports, to achieve high performance and excellent customer service. The Director will regularly engage with dining locations and auxiliary service sites to evaluate service levels and customer feedback, actively addressing any issues and implementing improvements. They will develop innovative business plans aimed at driving revenue growth, enhance marketing and communications for dining auxiliary services, and champion technology integration to improve service delivery. This position requires a bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience, with an annual salary range of $125,000 to $140,000. Occasional travel may be required for this role.
