The role available is for a Housekeeper reporting directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor within the Environmental Services department. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but plays an integral part in the daily operations. The Housekeeper is entrusted with the critical task of ensuring that all rooms, communal areas, and facility infrastructure are kept clean and sanitized to prevent infection and promote health. The job demands adherence to strict cleaning schedules and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have some experience in long-term care environments, possess a current or active Food Handlers Permit (for assisted living facilities), and be capable of performing basic mathematical operations. The Housekeeper should also be competent in the English language, able to read, write, and communicate effectively. Major responsibilities include routine and deep cleaning of all areas, operation of cleaning machinery like vacuums and floor buffers, waste management, and preparation of rooms for new residents, including terminal cleaning and isolation protocols when necessary. Additional duties involve the delivery of linens and supplies, and maintaining organized and safe work areas. The position requires physical activity such as lifting, moving furniture, and sustained periods of cleaning, emphasizing good health and stamina.
