The role being offered is a key position within MetroHealth's premier Metro Life Flight (MLF) program and emergency care team. This position involves managing logistics and facilitating routine, non-emergent ground ambulance transportation calls for MetroHealth and its partner organizations. The role requires overseeing the safe and timely transfer of patients between hospitals and medical facilities, ensuring smooth coordination across multiple stakeholders. This individual will act as an ambassador for the MetroHealth System and its partners, representing their values and providing exceptional customer service.
As the primary contact for both internal and external customers, this position entails comprehensive concierge and call management responsibilities. The person in this role will be the sole point of contact through all stages of call processing and completion, guaranteeing seamless communication and problem resolution. Critical thinking is essential, as the position demands assessing transportation needs swiftly and effectively, finding optimal solutions for patients in a high-stress environment. Coordination with a diverse range of multidisciplinary teams is integral in providing timely and professional services.
This role operates on a rotating night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, totaling 72 hours biweekly, making it suitable for candidates who thrive in dynamic and challenging work settings. - High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam
- Current certification as Ohio Emergency Medical Technician or obtain within 18 months of hire
- Current and valid Ohio Driver's License and maintain eligibility for insurance carrier requirements
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or obtain within 90 days of hire
- 1 year of experience in customer service
- Ability to read maps quickly and convey directions
- Knowledge of Ohio geography or obtain within 6 months
- Proficient in flight computer-aided dispatch and mapping software or obtain within 6 months
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and data entry
- Knowledge of medical terminology
