The role of the Cook at Tufts Medicine’s High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA, is an integral part of the food services team, responsible for preparing meals that meet the hospital’s standards for accuracy, quantity, appearance, and quality. This part-time position, requiring about 16 hours per week with a schedule focused on weekends, involves preparing a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events. The Cook will work in multiple food production areas including patient, retail, and catering services, ensuring that all meals are prepared safely and efficiently in accordance with established recipes and dietary requirements. The role demands adherence to strict food safety and infection control standards, utilizing practices such as HACCP and wearing appropriate sanitary protective equipment like hairnets, gloves, and aprons.
The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant experience in a food services environment or restaurant setting.
