The role of Waitstaff at Sunrise Senior Living is integral to ensuring residents and guests receive excellent meal service in a timely and professional manner. This position demands attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest food safety and sanitation standards. Waitstaff responsibilities extend beyond serving meals to include bussing and resetting tables, cleaning, completing side work, and assisting with light food preparation and plating when needed. A key part of the job is to cultivate a warm and welcoming dining environment by engaging personally and respectfully with residents and guests. Waitstaff members also utilize Sunrise systems for accurate order taking and meal delivery, attend pre-meal meetings to understand the menu thoroughly, and assist residents with their food choices.
Employees in this role are expected to comply with federal, state, and local regulations relating to food handling and occupational health and safety, demonstrating a commitment to safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to fire safety and lockout/tagout procedures. - High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality or full-service senior living
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
- Maintain ServeSafe certification
- Maintain Local Health Department Food Handler Card
- Ability to participate in training and re-education as required by Sunrise and state/provincial regulations
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
- Comply with drug test and physical evaluation
- Meet Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination requirements as mandated by laws
