The specific role being offered is that of an Aircraft Ramp Agent. This position is critical to the seamless operation of airport ramp activities, involving the loading, unloading, and servicing of customer aircraft to ensure the smooth flow of air travel logistics. The ramp agent will be responsible for the safeguarding of baggage, air cargo, and airmail, protecting these assets from weather damage, theft, or loss. The role requires physical stamina as the agent will regularly lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items, including bags and company materials that weigh up to 70 pounds. In addition to manual handling tasks, the ramp agent will operate various motorized equipment such as belt loaders, pushback tugs, lift trucks, and deicers to support aircraft servicing operations. They must also safely operate pushback equipment while maintaining close communication with Wing Walkers to ensure operational safety around aircraft. The position mandates accurate record-keeping and paperwork completion related to baggage, cargo, mail, and company materials, reflecting a thorough and organized approach to administrative responsibilities. Candidates must exhibit strong communication skills both verbally and via radio equipment to effectively coordinate with team members and other airport personnel. The role also includes the completion of specialized ramp and Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) training to obtain airport authority identification security clearance.
