The role of a Multi-Unit Leader at SONIC is a critical management position responsible for overseeing multiple drive-in locations to ensure operational efficiency, employee performance, and customer satisfaction. This includes directing staff across various stations like the grill, fryer, expeditor, drive-thru, and carhop services, adapting to store volume and operational needs.
In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Multi-Unit Leader enforces compliance with company policies and health regulations while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and guests. They play a key role in handling and resolving employee issues and guest complaints with professionalism and urgency. From managing labor schedules and controlling costs related to food, labor, and inventory to auditing employment records and payroll, this role demands strong organizational and leadership skills. Furthermore, the Multi-Unit Leader collaborates with vendors to ensure the quality and reliability of supplies and works to develop and implement marketing strategies tailored to their assigned region to boost sales and customer engagement.
Candidates for this position should possess a minimum of three years of experience in restaurant management, preferably within a quick-service environment, with prior experience in multi-unit supervision being advantageous. They should have an educational background of at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or related fields considered a plus. Adept knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, federal and state labor laws, as well as health and sanitation standards, is essential. Strong leadership abilities, communication skills, and the competence to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities are crucial to success in this role.
This position requires a minimum five-day workweek including nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours to ensure continuous operational oversight.
