This role is crucial in ensuring that patients and customers receive delicious, nutritious meals prepared according to standardized recipes. The Cook II will play a supervisory role by overseeing Cook I staff and Service Assistants, directing their tasks and supporting daily operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Important responsibilities include managing the opening and closing of the department, completing cash handling procedures with accuracy, and demonstrating the ability to convert recipes and adjust food forecasting as needed. Working hours vary between 5:00 AM and 7:30 PM, including rotating weekends and holiday shifts, providing a dynamic and engaging workplace schedule. This position is designed for candidates with a strong culinary background, ideally with an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts and at least two years of food preparation experience or four years of food production experience within a demanding setting that emphasizes scratch cooking.
