This role involves standing on the front lines, traveling nationwide to respond to environmental emergencies and hazardous situations. Rapid Responders provide essential support through air monitoring, environmental sampling, moisture mapping, and general site safety, among other vital responsibilities. The position demands flexibility due to the fluctuating nature of emergency workloads and requires candidates who can think quickly, communicate effectively, and maintain a strong commitment to excellence. Employment is offered on a part-time or temporary basis, with competitive pay ranging from $25 to $30 per hour for project work, $19 to $24 per hour for limited projects, and $16 per hour or minimum local wage during training. There's also significant potential for overtime at higher pay rates. Rapid Responders set their own availability schedules and may be called upon for mobilization based on operational needs and qualifications. The role often involves travel for periods up to 30 days, exposure to a variety of weather conditions, and physical demands such as lifting equipment and wearing personal protective gear. The position is physically challenging and requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, handling heavy equipment, and working in environments that may include chemical, physical, and biological hazards. Rapid Responders must be adaptable to various environments including waterways, beaches, mountains, and urban sites. Emergency response work requires wearing respirators and other personal protective equipment, sometimes for extended shifts. Candidates must be medically cleared, trained in HAZWOPER safety standards, and comply with all OSHA-required certifications.   • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • functional or higher computer literacy in Windows environment
  • valid unrestricted driver’s license
  • ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • ability to pass Respirator Fit Test and be medically cleared and certified for HAZWOPER sites
  • capability to complete HAZWOPER certification and safety training
  • ability to obtain DISA clearance
  • ability to obtain TWIC clearance
  • ability to complete assigned OSHA training including annual renewals
  • must be at least 21 years old
  • ability to travel frequently for extended periods
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in demanding environments
