The role of Night Shift Traffic Control Technician II is a crucial position within RoadSafe Traffic Systems. This non-exempt role involves working during night hours to set up and take down lane closures, ensuring the safety of traffic control projects on state highways and other roadways. The technician will be responsible for redirecting traffic to protect workers and survey crews, operating specialized vehicles such as Management of Traffic (MOT) and Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) vehicles, and managing various traffic safety devices like cones, signs, arrow boards, and variable message boards. This position demands a high level of independence as well as the ability to function effectively as part of a team. The Night Shift Traffic Control Technician II plays an essential role in maintaining safe and efficient work zones and traffic flow during construction or maintenance activities. The job requires meticulous attention to detail to monitor and maintain the proper placement of traffic control devices throughout the shift, as well as performing general maintenance and repairs of equipment. Candidates must comply with all safety regulations, company policies, and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.   • Valid driver’s license
  • 1-3 years of experience and 2,000 in field hours in traffic control
  • Must be able to pass a background check, including motor vehicle records check
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements
  • Wear proper safety equipment (work boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest)
  • Basic reading and writing ability to comply with road signs, complete paperwork, and knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations
  • Must be able to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented and maintained
  • Good knowledge of state and local roadways and experience operating delivery vehicles of varying sizes
  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • Must successfully complete the ATSSA TCT intermediate training course
  • Willingness to travel statewide, with occasional overnight stays, and ability to work nights and weekends as required by projects
  • Must be available for a rotating on-call schedule
