Located at 21540 Hawthorne Blvd Unit 519, Torrance, California, inside the Del Amo Fashion Center, Din Tai Fung is currently seeking passionate individuals to join its team as Dumpling Trainees. This role offers an hourly wage starting at $22.50, with compensation adjusting based on experience, background, and market factors. As a Dumpling Trainee, you will embark on a hands-on, immersive training program specializing in the art of dumpling preparation, including measuring, rolling, stuffing, folding, and steaming. The position requires working in a show kitchen, where maintaining a clean and professional appearance is essential. This role is a gateway to mastering the skills necessary for success at Din Tai Fung and provides opportunities for career advancement into the Dumpling Prep role upon successful completion of training, accompanied by a wage increase.
The Dumpling Trainee role is pivotal in upholding Din Tai Fung’s reputation for culinary excellence. You will be responsible for preparing dough, crafting dumpling skins, and accurately stuffing and folding dumplings with an eye for detail while maintaining hygiene and operational standards. Supporting functions include keeping workspaces sanitized, managing inventory, assisting with deep cleaning, and ensuring compliance with safety and labeling procedures.
