The Bakery Team Member position at Western Market is a vital role within the bakery department, directly reporting to the Bakery Manager. This full-time role is designed for individuals who are passionate about baking and food preparation, possessing the skills and enthusiasm to maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency in bakery products. The position requires availability to work five days a week, including weekends, with shifts scheduled from either 6 am to 2 pm or 7 am to 3 pm. The Bakery Team Member’s primary duties include preparing baked goods according to specific recipes and quality standards, packaging and pricing products, managing inventory by receiving and processing vendor orders, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the production and storage areas, and merchandising bakery displays throughout the store. In addition to these essential functions, Bakery Team Members play a customer-facing role, assisting shoppers and ensuring an inviting bakery section. They work closely with other team members and the Marketing Coordinator to organize product sampling and demos that help promote bakery items. Staff members are expected to uphold a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic prioritizing efficiency and accuracy. Cross-training and the ability to teach new team members are also part of the job. The environment is fast-paced and requires candidates to be comfortable with lifting items up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in varied temperature conditions, including cold storage and hot ovens.
