The primary objective of the Teacher Assistant is to assist in delivering developmentally appropriate care and education that aligns with federal and state regulations, including the Head Start Program Performance Standards and the Head Start Act. This role not only supports educational activities but also collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to address broader child development areas such as health, disabilities, and social services. • High school diploma or GED
• Preschool Child Development Associate credential or equivalent
• Enrollment in a Child Development Associate Credential program if required
• Six months experience in early childhood development
• Twelve credit hours from accredited college or university including at least six credit hours in Early Childhood Development or related field
• Bilingual Spanish/English
• Basic keyboard and computer skills
• Ability to abide by all relevant federal and state regulations
• Ability to actively supervise children by sight and sound
• Willingness to complete credential program within two years if not already completed
• Education obtained outside USA must be evaluated for equivalency
