The Host/Hostess position at Sixty Vines is essential to creating a positive first impression for guests. In this role, the host or hostess warmly greets and seats guests promptly and politely, ensuring hospitality begins the moment guests enter the restaurant. They manage the reservation system effectively by booking tables within reservation times, quoting accurate wait times, and striving to avoid both overbooking and underbooking. Exceptional communication skills are required, as hosts must answer telephone calls professionally before the third ring and provide informative, friendly guidance to guests inquiring about the restaurant’s operations, menus, and ongoing events. Additionally, the host undertakes maintaining a clean and welcoming entrance area, hostess stand, and even women's restroom. Staying attentive to the flow of guests, the host guides guests to their assigned tables with light conversation to enhance their welcoming experience. The role also entails responsibilities such as bussing tables during busy periods, ensuring floor aisles remain clear, and assisting guests with directions inside the restaurant.
