Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is a global leader in aerospace and national security, recognized for its innovation, agility, and mission-focused solutions. Established for over 60 years, SNC has been a disruptive force in the aerospace and defense industry, delivering customer-centered technology integrations and transformative solutions. SNC serves as a Tier One Superior Supplier for the U.S. Air Force and has earned accolades as one of America’s fastest-growing technology companies. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area within SNC is a dominant force in the realm of manned and unmanned aircraft systems integration, specializing in high-performance ISR and aviation systems. The IAS division provides end-to-end C4ISR (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance) capabilities including design, integration, testing, certification, training, and comprehensive logistics support, catering to customer-specific cost, performance, and schedule requirements with an outstanding track record of delivery on time and within budget.
The Subcontracts Management Specialist II role within SNC supports the Supply Management organization by managing category, agreement, and performance of suppliers critical to subcontracted assemblies and systems. This role is vital for driving the development, production, and global sustainment of multiple contract types through preparation of bid packages, development of evaluation criteria, supplier proposal analysis, negotiation of subcontract provisions, and administration of subcontracts. The specialist is responsible for managing standard subcontract agreements such as Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and Time and Material (T&M), leading negotiations including terms, price, schedule, and monitoring subcontractor performance to ensure alignment with SNC requirements for delivery, quality, service, cost, and technical standards.
The position demands a strategic approach to supply base management, including supplier identification and development, progress monitoring, risk and opportunity identification, and fostering robust supplier communication and relationships. The specialist acts as the primary interface between SNC, programs, and suppliers to facilitate source management activities, ensure accurate and accepted requirements, and support cross-functional collaboration. Additionally, this role aids in reducing costs while enhancing value through preferred suppliers, representing internal teams, and guiding suppliers through negotiation and performance processes.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance. Preferred qualifications include strong communication abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, relevant certifications such as CPIM, CSSP, or CPM, and expertise in detailed price analysis.
SNC offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision plans, 401(k) with substantial matching contributions, life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more. This role is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking company working on high-impact projects like the U.S. Air Force’s Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) mission, which modernizes airborne command posts crucial for national emergency communications.
