The Wine Steward role at Invited is a pivotal position within the Food and Beverage team, focused on elevating the dining experience through expert wine service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for curating and presenting a refined wine list, providing knowledgeable recommendations, and maintaining the highest standards of wine service and presentation. Reporting to the Food & Beverage/Beverage Director or Banquet/Restaurant Manager, the Wine Steward enhances member and guest satisfaction by ensuring that wine selections perfectly complement meals and occasions. Beyond serving wine, this role involves managing wine inventory, adhering to club guidelines, and supporting event operations with professionalism and a warm, inviting demeanor.
This position demands a blend of extensive wine knowledge, hospitality excellence, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment. The Wine Steward is expected to have sommelier certification or completed coursework in wine, indicating a solid foundation in wine characteristics, pairings, and service techniques. Experience in food and beverage roles, particularly those involving wine service, is highly valued. The role also requires physical stamina to perform tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 100 lbs, and engaging in various physical activities that support service operations.

- Sommelier certification or coursework in wine knowledge
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, or gases
- Capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding as required
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing, with sufficient visual acuity
- Availability to work additional hours including weekends and/or holidays as needed
