The Steward position serves as a cornerstone of kitchen operations, responsible for maintaining cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors regularly, washing dishes, pots, pans, trays, and glassware using manual or machine methods, and sanitizing kitchen surfaces such as worktables, walls, and refrigerators. This role requires attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to upholding sanitation and safety guidelines. In addition to these tasks, a Steward will properly dispose of trash, clean garbage cans, sort recyclables, polish utensils, and assist with transporting supplies and equipment throughout the kitchen and storage areas. Flexibility in duties is essential, as the Steward may also provide support during banquet setups and assist with basic food preparation such as washing and peeling vegetables.
Working efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, the Steward supports a smooth flow of kitchen operations and contributes to an orderly workspace by storing and rotating stock in designated areas. This role demands a dependable and hardworking individual with strong organizational skills who is dedicated to maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. - High school diploma or equivalent required
