The Customer Support Specialist position is a full-time role that supports API's airline partners onsite at their office location. This role is pivotal in managing hotel and ground transportation reservations, providing consultative support, and cultivating strong relationships with airline stakeholders. With an emphasis on delivering professional, courteous, and friendly customer service, the Specialist acts as the primary liaison between API and the airline, ensuring that client needs are assessed and addressed with accuracy and promptness. This position covers overnight shifts typically from 10:00pm to 8:00am or 8:00pm to 6:00am, with a flexible schedule that requires availability for weekends and holidays. The Specialist is equipped to handle irregular operations and dynamic scheduling demands, which is vital in adapting to the fluid nature of airline crew travel schedules.
In this capacity, the Specialist is responsible for processing client requests through API’s operational systems, negotiating with vendors such as hotels and ground transportation providers to optimize outcomes for clients, and resolving client issues with a calm and professional demeanor. The role requires proficiency in various reservation systems including ACES, Hotel Express, and IHRS, along with communications via phone, email, and fax. The Specialist also participates in ongoing training to maintain certification and stays updated on API’s call center methodologies. Critical to success is the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and uphold exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. A second language is advantageous but not mandatory.
Compensation for this role is an hourly rate of $20, reflecting its non-exempt status. Candidates with customer service experience, particularly in airline, hotel, or travel sectors, are preferred.
